Job Overview:

As an Industrial Engineer at Hayden Industrial, you will play a critical role in optimizing the layout and flow of manufacturing operations to maximize efficiency and reduce waste. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving production systems, focusing on the physical arrangement of processes and equipment to enhance productivity. This position involves working closely with cross-functional teams to improve workflows, integrate new technologies, and ensure the effective utilization of resources across the production facility. The role reports to the Vice President and General Manager of the Tulsa operation, with occasional travel for vendor selection, auditing, and equipment evaluations.


Key Responsibilities:

Layout Optimization: Analyze and optimize the physical layout of the production floor to improve workflow, reduce material handling time, and enhance overall efficiency in the manufacturing of air-cooled heat exchangers.

Process Flow Design: Develop and implement strategies to streamline process flows, eliminating bottlenecks, and improving cycle times across all production stages.

Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives for continuous process improvement by evaluating and enhancing manufacturing operations through the application of lean principles and industry best practices. Focus on optimizing production flow, equipment usage, and personnel efficiency.

Capacity Planning: Assess current production capacities and work with management to propose adjustments, equipment upgrades, or layout changes that accommodate future growth and demand fluctuations.

Collaboration and Design Integration: Collaborate with the design and R&D teams to ensure new product designs are manufacturable with optimized production layouts and minimal disruption to existing operations. Ensure cost-effectiveness and manufacturability throughout the design process.

Root Cause Analysis: Identify and analyze issues related to production inefficiencies, work with cross-functional teams to determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Equipment Utilization: Monitor and improve equipment layout, ensuring maximum utilization and efficiency. Lead the planning and integration of new equipment, focusing on improving flow and minimizing downtime.

Documentation and Standards Development: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to process flows, layouts, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other necessary guidelines to standardize operations.

Cost Reduction and Efficiency: Implement cost-saving initiatives related to the production layout, equipment use, and material handling. Focus on reducing waste while maintaining high product quality and performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality assurance, and R&D teams to implement manufacturing solutions, optimize layouts, and resolve any issues related to product flow or equipment functionality.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing optimization, preferably in a production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of process layout optimization, workflow management, and production systems design.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and other engineering tools for layout and process flow design.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve inefficiencies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, capable of working with multiple departments to achieve shared goals.

This role is performed in a manufacturing environment where the individual may be exposed to high temperatures, loud noise, and the operation of heavy machinery. The work may require the individual to be on their feet for extended periods and handle large, heavy components.

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of products in a manufacturing environment. This role involves developing and implementing quality control processes, performing inspections, conducting audits, and collaborating with production teams to resolve quality issues. The Quality Engineer will also analyze data, identify trends, and recommend improvements to ensure products meet customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The position plays a key role in maintaining high-quality standards and driving continuous improvement throughout the production process.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and standards for manufacturing processes.
  • Perform regular inspections and audits of materials, processes, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Identify, document, and report quality issues or non-conformities, and work with production teams to resolve them.
  • Analyze quality data (e.g., defects, customer complaints, production errors) to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., production, engineering, and supply chain) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for product defects or process inefficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for quality control processes, inspections, and testing.
  • Conduct training for production staff on quality standards, best practices, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma), and customer requirements.
  • Support product development by providing quality input during design and prototyping stages.
  • Participate in customer audits and address quality-related concerns or inquiries.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality engineering or quality control within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) and industry standards.
  • Experience with quality tools such as root cause analysis, failure mode effects analysis (FMEA), and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Familiarity with product testing, inspection techniques, and material specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software/systems.
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) is a plus.

As a Procurement Manager at Hayden Industrial, you will be responsible for overseeing the sourcing and purchasing of materials, components, and services necessary for the production of high-performance air-cooled heat exchangers. Your primary goal will be to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting production schedules. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality control, to ensure the timely procurement of the right materials at the best prices. This role requires strong negotiation skills, strategic sourcing expertise, and a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics in a manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing and Vendor Management:

  • Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high levels of efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for materials, components, and services used in the manufacturing of air-cooled heat exchangers.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers, ensuring they meet quality standards, cost targets, and delivery timelines.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and cost savings.
  • Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers to ensure a stable and efficient supply chain.

Inventory Management and Planning:

  • Work closely with production and inventory control teams to forecast material requirements based on production schedules and customer demand.
  • Monitor inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock to meet production needs without overstocking.
  • Implement inventory optimization strategies to minimize costs while ensuring timely availability of critical materials.

Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure purchased materials and components meet company standards and customer requirements.
  • Address any quality concerns with suppliers and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal specifications in the procurement process.

Cost Management and Budgeting:

  • Develop and manage procurement budgets, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Monitor spending to ensure adherence to the procurement budget and report on variances.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and track performance against cost reduction targets.

Supply Chain Risk Management:

  • Assess and mitigate risks related to the supply chain, including potential disruptions due to supplier issues, transportation delays, or material shortages.
  • Develop contingency plans to address supply chain disruptions and ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Maintain awareness of market conditions, trends, and geopolitical factors that may impact material availability and costs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure materials and components are aligned with project specifications and timelines.
  • Provide procurement support for new product development, including identifying suitable suppliers and ensuring the availability of necessary materials.
  • Support the production team by ensuring materials are available to meet production schedules and minimizing downtime.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, supplier contracts, purchase orders, and inventory.
  • Prepare regular procurement reports, including cost analysis, supplier performance, and inventory status.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and procedures, and contribute to process improvements.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop a team of procurement professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Familiarity with materials used in manufacturing, particularly for high-performance industrial products like air-cooled heat exchangers.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with cost management, budgeting, and inventory control.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to procurement.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply).
  • Experience working in the industrial equipment industry.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

The Procurement Manager role requires occasional walking around the facility for supplier visits or inventory inspections. While the position primarily involves office work, it may involve occasional lifting of materials or documents up to 25-30 pounds. The role requires good vision for reviewing contracts and procurement documents, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in meetings. Physical stamina is needed for extended periods of sitting, walking, and occasional travel for vendor management and supplier audits.
